Monthly Wrap-Up – August 2018

Hello everyone,

We have already reached the end of August! It really does seem like no time at all since I was writing my previous monthly wrap-up, but luckily I have managed to get plenty done in the meantime, so I am pleased to say that this was a fairly productive month!

First of all, I completed my Goodreads Reading Challenge! My target was 45, which I thought was quite ambitious at the time, so I cannot believe that I have reached it with four months still to go. What can I say, I have become truly devoted to books!

I managed to complete five books in August, and in doing so I have got quite attached to crime thrillers, thanks to the DI Adam Fawley series by Cara Hunter. I have also just begun rereading the Cormoran Strike series by J.K. Rowling (as Robert Galbraith).

So without further ado, here are the books I completed in August:

The Trauma Cleaner ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Playing Dead ⭐⭐⭐.5
Close To Home ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
In The Dark ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The One Memory of Flora Banks (Goodreads) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was able to get a lot of my own writing done, and I hope to finish my current WIP by the end of October. I am not far from the end, but there will be a lot of editing to do! Also very thankful to be out of the writing slump I encountered in July.

It was also my birthday in August. It was a fairly quiet one, although I did receive some very nice books, including Harry Potter: A History of Magic, which I am really looking forward to reading!

And finally, I have really enjoyed reading lots of brilliant bookish blog posts elsewhere this month. I follow a lot of other bloggers, and am always grateful to be part of this wonderful community.

Have a good weekend and a great September.

Happy reading :)
