24 Hour Readathon Wrap-Up – November 2018

Hello everyone,

I have just taken part in my second 24-Hour readathon, which is hosted from 8pm on the last Friday of each month by my fabulous fellow book lovers Lili and Noriko.

Overall it was fun, and I am happy with how it went! At the start it was fairly slow going, but in the end I managed to read two of the three books that were on my readathon TBR, with a few hours of sleep in between.

Here are the books I read during the readathon:

I had already read about 50 pages of Her Name Was Rose before the start of the readathon, and it was a long and very intense book that took me until just after 5am to finish. Given my tiredness at this time, it was a battle to keep my concentration, and the hours just seemed to pass by so quickly!

When I woke up again at 8.45am, I picked up my Kindle immediately from my bedside table and began reading Lying About Last Summer. This powerful YA novel was a fairly quick read for most of the way, and despite taking a couple of long breaks I managed to finish it just before 8pm on Saturday, with the help of several cups of tea.

Both books were strong reads, and although they were quite different to each other in terms of plot and genre, it was interesting to see that they contained some similarities. I shall post reviews of them both in the next few days :)

It all made for a very good readathon! As always, it was great to chat with Lili and Noriko along the way, and I look forward to taking part again.

Happy reading :)
