Top Five Memorable Endings I Read In 2018

Hello everyone,

For me, the ending is one of the most important parts of a book. It helps form my lasting impression of a book and it should fit well with everything that has happened already.

Today I have picked out five books I read in 2018 that all contained memorable endings, which felt ideal and fitting in relation to the story.

Let Me Lie by Clare Mackintosh

The ending to this book was extremely dramatic, which compensated for a slower pace early on. It was full of drama and suspense, and I just kept turning the pages! Luckily, it all had a satisfying conclusion.

The Child by Fiona Barton

I found this book overall to be a fairly average read, but the ending was perfect. It was emotional, and above all, happy.

Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell

This was an excellent read, very well-written throughout. The ending was bittersweet, and I was almost crying when I read the epilogue!

No Further Questions by Gillian McAllister

This is a mostly a courtroom drama with a powerful narrative, and the way the case turns towards the end has such an impact on all the characters, who are all magnificently well drawn.

This latest book in the Cormoran Strike series was a good read, though slow to get going and a bit convoluted. But it all builds towards a dramatic and high stakes ending, where the case is unravelled.
