Monthly Wrap-Up – August 2019

Hello everyone,

The end of an eventful month! During August I returned to blogging after a two-month absence, celebrated my birthday with a nice afternoon tea, and edged closer to achieving my Goodreads target.

As for books, I finished five in August. All except one were over 400 pages, which is longer than my usual reads. I finished my Harry Potter reread, and enjoyed my first five-star book since May.

Here are the books I read during August:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Familiars ⭐⭐⭐.5
Watching You ⭐⭐
A Different Time (blog tour coming up!)
The Muse ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My writing is coming along fairly well. I am now about 12,000 words into my current WIP, and at the moment I am trying to get myself to write some of it every day, even if it is only 100 words. I think the plot outline is very good; the key will be how I execute my ideas on the page.

Also in August, I took a little time off work to enjoy some days out in several places in the UK, and I made some good progress in my attempts to teach myself how to play the piano. I am a total beginner, and learning means a lot to me. It is a great feeling when I play a tune correctly!

To finish, here are two of my favourite blog posts from the month of August:

Kristin put together a fantastic list of books that contain art and artists. I love books like this, and she helped add more to my TBR!

I have recently discovered Caitlin‘s blog and like many others, I love her posts! She wrote this thought-provoking post about blog hopping.

Have a lovely September :)
