Hello everyone,
For me, the ending is one of the most important parts of a book. It helps form my lasting impression of a book and it should fit well with everything that has happened already.
Today I have picked out five books I read in 2019 that all contained memorable endings, which felt ideal and fitting in relation to the story.

The Ten Thousand Doors Of January by Alix E. Harrow
Although the odd aspect of the ending here could have been explained slightly more, January’s story comes to a close in a perfect way that was entirely in keeping with the magic that ran through this book.

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
The ending here where Conor confronts his fears and his ‘truth’ is incredibly moving, and acts as my main abiding memory from reading this book.

The Seven Deaths Of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
After such a complex and utterly brilliant plot which contains an almost endless supply of crucial details, this book needed a good ending. In my opinion it delivered, with a resolution I failed to see coming. That made sure of its place as one of my favourite books.

After The Green Withered by Kristin Ward
A dystopia with s terrific concept which gradually grew darker, and it ended on a major cliffhanger which made the sequel an enticing prospect.

Changeling by Matt Wesolowski
This may be one of the shortest books I read in 2019, but it is among the very best and most memorable. The ending here provides a breathtaking twist that left me almost speechless.
