Five Books on my TBR – February 2020

Hello everyone,

At the moment the number of books on my Goodreads TBR seems to be going up rather than down. It is now above the 160 mark, so clearly I must be doing something wrong!

Joking aside, I need to set aside some time to go through the list and decide which ones can go – I am sure there are a fair few. On the other hand, there are so many great books around right now that I’m sure my TBR will not decrease as substantially as I might hope.

Here are five books that I absolutely want to read, preferably in the next few weeks and months:

The Shadow Of The Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

I have heard nothing but great things about this book. The writing sounds completely impeccable and the plot delightfully complex; just the kind of story I love to read.

The Foundling by Stacey Halls

I liked Stacey Halls’ debut novel The Familiars a lot, mostly for her writing and character dynamics, so this is a highly anticipated read. I bought this one recently and aim to get to it soon – the reviews I have seen are great, and the cover is unbelievably pretty.

The Two Lila Bennetts by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke

I decided to add this one to my TBR after reading an excellent review from one of my fellow bloggers. Also the quote on the cover, ‘Sliding doors with a killer twist’, had me completely sold!

Beast by Matt Wesolowski

I can hardly speak highly enough of the previous book in this series, Changeling. It was hands down one of my top reads of 2019, and everything suggests that this one is just as good. The format is unique and the mystery is usually as gripping as they come.

The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain

My friend Gem gave this one five stars, and that is good enough for me! From reading the synopsis, it seems like an impactful read so I am looking forward to trying it out.
