Five Books On My TBR – December 2020

Hello everyone,

Nearly three months on from the last time I did one of these posts, and the number of books on my Goodreads TBR has only increased. Lately I have just received too many great recommendations and seen some receive such a huge amount of glowing praise that it has been hard to resist!

Here are some of the more recent additions, and the reasons why I am so excited for when I – eventually – pick them up.

The Silence Of Bones by June Hur

Everything about this book from the promise of a captivating mystery to the historical Korean setting makes it a massively exciting prospect. Indeed, as soon as I read this amazing review from Abby, I knew this was a must-read!

The Keeper Of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan

There have been mixed reviews of this one floating around, but some of my best bookish friends have absolutely loved it, so on that basis I do not need any further convincing.

I have heard that it is a highly emotional read, and there is something about the title which draws me to it. The cover is quite beautiful too!

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas

I have seen this book everywhere recently and there are so many things that make me excited to read it. First of all there is, of course, the diversity and the trans representation, but we also have the settings and concepts which look very exotic.

Another book blogger compared it the film Coco, which I adore, so all the more reason to pick this one up!

Watch Over Me by Nina LaCour

As is the case for every author on this list, I have never read anything by Nina LaCour. However, I have only heard good things about Watch Over Me, which looks like just the kind of book I would enjoy.

In addition to that, there was no way I could not add this book to my TBR after reading this rather brilliant review from Margaret.

The Year Of The Witching by Alexis Henderson

I love reading about witches, so this book is an opportunity I can hardly refuse! The cover and the synopsis are both intriguing, and it was nominated in the Goodreads Choice Awards this year which has brought it closer to my attention.

It seems darker than most of my usual reads, but I like the sound of the fantasy aspect. Looking forward to reading it!
