Hello everyone,
Welcome to my first post looking back on the books I have read in 2020! Many of these have been on my Kindle and today I would like to share some of the best quotes that I have come across in e-books this year.
The great thing about a Kindle is that you can highlight various lines or passages and make notes. Even better, they get saved to Goodreads so you can revisit them whenever you may feel the need!
This post will be split into two parts, with the second coming this time next week. I have read a lot more books on my Kindle this year, because of blog tours and spending more time at home. Here are some interesting, insightful, inspiring, and meaningful quotes that I chanced upon!

“I’ve come to realize that it doesn’t matter what you plan with someone for the future. There’s no guarantee they’ll stay. No matter how long they’ve been in your life. No matter what you’ve been through together. No matter how close you think you are.”

I always thought that being beautiful would make life so much easier.
Shadow And Bone by Leigh Bardugo
The horse has speed. The bear has strength. The bird has wings. No creature has all of these gifts, and so the world is held in balance. Amplifiers are part of this balance, not a means of subverting it, and each Grisha would do well to remember this or risk the consequences.
Shadow And Bone by Leigh Bardugo
I’d been too busy imagining myself by his side, the saviour of Ravka, most treasured, most desired, like some kind of queen. I’d made it so easy for him.

Anything can happen when we’re inside, the only limit being our imaginations.
Rise Of Gaia by Kristin Ward
My teachers tell us about things like climate change and global warming, micro-plastics, and greenhouse gases. But these things are too abstract for most people. They are not tangible and therefore, easily ignored and disregarded.

Weather masks a multitude of sins.
The Glass Woman by Caroline Lea
Above them, a mountain yawns into the sky, incisors scraping the surface of the clouds and breathing cold air from the snow-covered skull. A wisp of smoke puffs lazily from the gaping jaws.

When he smiles at her like this, it is hard to imagine the man whose presence feels like iron bars encircling her.

Sometimes, violence produces itself, like spores of mould that lie dormant, then multiply and consume.
The Glass Woman by Caroline Lea
But the truth isn’t solid, like the earth; she knows that now. The truth is water, or steam; the truth is ice. The same tale might shift and melt and reshape at any time.

Anything worth doing always starts as a bad idea.
Siege And Storm by Leigh Bardugo
What’s right and wrong never really changes, I know. But I was learning fast that the colours often run between the two in an all too imperfect world.
The Woman In The Painting by Kerry Postle
To draw is to observe, to pick up details no one else sees but are always there, to capture truths that most people don’t usually have the time to notice.
