Hello everyone,
In a year where one of my primary aims was to try and get through as many of the books in my TBR as possible, I have already contrived to add a lot more to it – what a surprise!
Most of the new additions are upcoming releases or titles that have been recommended to me, and today I am sharing five of those books which I am hoping to read either very soon, or some indefinable point in the future.
The House On The Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
I’m starting this book next week and I cannot wait! It seems like a departure from my usual type of read, but that could be because of the fact it looks so unique. I have not seen a single negative word spoken about it, just glowing reviews everywhere I look, so my expectations are high!
Deity by Matt Wesolowski
Another book that I am about to start and I already know that I am going to love it. Having read the previous two books in Matt Wesolowski’s podcast based Six Stories series of cold case mysteries, he has nothing to prove to me. He is a brilliant writer and I am very excited to see what this latest instalment has in store!
Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams
This book seems exceptionally powerful and character-driven, but also containing elements of humour and social commentary, and as a result I find myself quite drawn towards it. The topics it explores are fascinating and it has received a lot of recognition since being released, so it is one I am looking forward to reading.
The Tidal Zone by Sarah Moss
My friend Gem recently recommended this one to me, and after reading the synopsis I did not need any further convincing! The concept sounds really powerful and I get the feeling it is going to be quite a moving read, which usually equals a high rating from me.
The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles
I have heard some wonderful things about this book and it seems to have everything I look for in a historical novel. It is made even more interesting by the fact it is based on a true story, the use of dual timelines, and the fact books play a central role in the plot.
