Hello everyone,
I hope you are having a fantastic week so far. Today I have a tag, and it is a rather interesting one because it turns out that there are two different tags with the exact same name! Back in September I did the Meet the Book Blogger Tag and the questions in that one were a lot different to this.
All the same, thank you so much to Becky for nominating for this particular version of the tag – her blog is brilliant and you should definitely be following it if you are not already.
Rules
- Nominated bloggers can nominate up to ten other bloggers.
- Use the same questions from the tag.
Who is your all-time favourite book character?
This is a very difficult question to begin!! The first name that comes to mind though is Vasilisa Petrovna (Vasya) from the Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden. She is such a strong and determined character who I found myself rooting for throughout the series. I really connected with her.
If you were stranded on a desert island, which book would you take with you? (Survival books do not count)

Probably something really long, such as War And Peace. That will certainly keep me busy when I have run out of places to explore on the island
What’s your most unpopular book opinion?
There is nothing that really comes to mind for this question, although I have to agree with Becky and say that I mostly quite enjoyed the Shadow and Bone series. There are also some occasions where I have enjoyed adaptations better than the book, with Gone Girl being an example.
What’s your weirdest bookish habit?
At the beginning of every new chapter, I always flick to the end of it to see how long it is. I find that shorter chapters always give me more motivation to read on!
What character would you bring to a family event as your fake partner?
Oh goodness, to be honest I cannot think of anyone?? I would be more than prepared to go to the event without a fictional partner, fake or otherwise
What made you decide to start a book blog?
I created my blog in its current form in January 2018, although I had a couple of failed attempts before then. I decided to start one because I wanted a space in which to share my love of books as well as have an outlet for reviewing them and giving my own thoughts. It was also a way of improving my writing, and of motivating me to read more books, which has definitely worked!
What about reading and books do you love the most?
My favourite thing about reading is simply discovering stories. I read many different genres and so that means I get to discover a very wide range and I find that enthralling. For me, the best thing about books is when you find one that just takes over your thoughts and transports you somewhere else. Those are the books that stand out the most.
What is your field of study/desired profession/current profession?
I have a lot of different interests although my favourite academic subjects are literature, geography, and history. I currently work for a university as an administrator, which is something I find very rewarding.
What are some book recommendations that became your favourites/obsessions?
Becky and I have a lot in common here! Anything by Alix E. Harrow and These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong have become instant favourites. I shall also add anything by Jessie Burton and Elizabeth Acevedo. I would have been awfully unaware of some of these books if it had not been for other book bloggers.
What is the book you shove down everyone’s throat?

I would say either The Seven Deaths Of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton or A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder by Holly Jackson. They are two incredible mysteries!

Happy reading :)
