Spotlight – Hoglet’s Birthday Surprise by Lynette Creswell

Hello everyone,

Just over a year ago I spotlighted Lynette Creswell’s adorable festive children’s book Hoglet’s Christmas Surprise, which was a very enchanting story full of good vibes and positive values.

And now, our favourite hedgehogs (hoglets!) Prickles and Primrose are back for a new story, which is all about making friends, kindness, and not judging other people. Released just the other day, it again looks like the perfect gift for any child who enjoys reading or learning in general.

It’s the Summer holidays!

Hoglets, Prickles and Primrose are busy exploring when they stumble across… a witch!

Terrified she’ll eat them for breakfast, the hoglets prepare to escape but soon realise the witch isn’t scary at all.

Willow the witch is lonely and in need of a friend.

Can the hoglets hep her?

A reader from the age of five, Lynette Creswell began writing at school and  with inspirations from the works of Enid Blyton and the Twilight series, eventually became an author – with a little push in the right direction. She began with a fantasy trilogy; the first of them entitled Sinners Of Magic. It was released in 2012 and received attention from film producers on both sides of the Atlantic.

One of her short stories, The Witching Hour, was made for television and narrated by the actress Julie Peasgood. Her children’s book Hoglet’s Christmas Magic was released in August 2021, and the follow-up Hoglet’s Birthday Surprise is her seventh published novel. Lynette lives in Lincolnshire with her husband.
