Hello everyone,
I hope you are having a nice week so far. For the final time this year, I am looking through my TBR and sharing a list of five books which I have recently added.
The hope is that I can get to each of the books on this list pretty soon, although with a substantial unread pile and the unpredictability and occasional impulsivity that comes through being a reader, that is not an absolute guarantee.
Without further ado, here is the list!

Heart Of The Sun Warrior by Sue Lynn Tan
This book is right at the very top of my Christmas wish list. Beautifully written and with brilliant characters and depth, Daughter Of The Moon Goddess is easily the best book I have read in 2022, so I am beyond excited to read the sequel.
I plan to read it early in 2023 and I cannot wait to see how the second half of this duology unfolds, with what lies in wait for Xingyin, Liwei, and Wenzhi in their fabulous myth-inspired world.

That Bonesetter Woman by Frances Quinn
Another one of my favourite books of 2022 was The Smallest Man, Frances Quinn’s debut novel. Therefore, it was an easy decision to add her follow-up to my TBR. It is another historical fiction with an intriguing concept and a somewhat marginalised main character, so I expect to really enjoy this one too.
And by the way, the cover is gorgeous!

Five Survive by Holly Jackson
When Holly Jackson announced the upcoming release of this book on Twitter a few months ago, it created a sense of anticipation. I am a huge fan of her A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder series, which is incessantly gripping and full of twists, so I am expecting something similar here.
Looking at the synopsis, it seems like it will be a very tense, high stakes read, so I am sure it will not be long until I pick it up.

The Giant Dark by Sarvat Hasin
I saw Sarvat Hasin at the Bath Literature Festival back in May when she discussed this book as part of a Q&A session alongside Jennifer Saint. This book intrigued me enough to add it to my TBR, both due to its concept and use of representation.
It is a contemporary retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. I love Greek retellings, but this one provides a very original take which piqued my interest.

The Castaways by Lucy Clarke
One of two books by Lucy Clarke that are currently sitting among the unread pile beside my shelves, I came across this one in a mobile library and decided to take it home with me.
It looks like a thriller that is full of menace and the blurb gives extremely little away, so hopefully I will like the surprises that lie in store.

Have you read any of these books? If so, I would love to know your thoughts! Let me know in the comments!
Happy reading :)
