Hello everyone,
Today I am taking a closer look at some more of the book covers I have come across during my reading journey and picking out the ones that feature food and drink.
In truth, not many books contain food or drink on their cover, and when they do it is usually only a minor detail. But I thought I would shed some light on them here in my latest random list post!

With The Fire On High by Elizabeth Acevedo
If someone was to mention food on the cover of a book, this would be the first one I think of. This cover is one of my favourites for its stunning colours and artwork, plus the portrait of the main character, Emoni. To top it all off, I absolutely adored the story and this was a five-star read.

The Murmur Of Bees by Sofia Segovia
This cover screams warm summer temperatures and rural settings, which is what you get in this wonderful book. Along with bees and flowers, the cover includes oranges, which are cultivated by the Morales family on their farm.

Cunning Women by Elizabeth Lee
The imagery on this cover reflect the atmosphere of the book itself, which tells of a family suspected of being witches who are living as outcasts. The brightest colours come from the red fruit flowers. I am not actually sure what fruit it is, but they are enough to be included on this list!

The House Of Fortune by Jessie Burton
Elements of this cover resemble a still-life painting, which is befitting of the story’s setting of historical Amsterdam. Some fruit appears on the top right and more on the bottom tier of the house. These include a pineapple, and pineapples play quite an important role in the book.

The House We Grew Up In
The most memorable facet of this book is the eccentric family of characters, but the cover is also quite distinctive. It shows a cracked egg with glimpses of a spoilt yolk, used as a metaphor for how the titular family gradually disintegrates.

The Whole Truth by Cara Hunter
The only book I can think of with a drink on the cover, out of all the ones I have read! This is actually a rather minimalist cover, dominated by the title and a fizzing champagne flute at its centre. The glass is filled to the brim, perhaps to emphasise the word ‘whole’ in the title.
