Hello everyone,
It is only Wednesday morning and it has already been a crazy busy week! Thankfully, I had time to write a blog post and it is quite a fun one, about seven books which I have recommended more than any others.
Some of these I find myself recommending frequently, while others on this list are books that I think everyone should read if they get the chance. Some stand out in a particular genre, and naturally several of them are among my favourite books.
So, without further ado, let us get to the list!

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
You know what I said about books that I think everyone should read? Well, that applies to this one more than any other on this list. It is not only relevant and so powerful in its depiction of contemporary issues, it also tells a great story with very well developed characters. In many ways, it is both educational and enriching.

Six Stories by Matt Wesolowski
I feel like this series has gradually gained more appreciation and reached a wider audience, but such is its brilliance that it deserves greater recognition. It centres around a fictional true crime podcast, with compelling cases, thrilling twists, and eerie atmospheres. If you love crime novels or thrillers or indeed crime podcasts, then you will love these books.

Daughter Of The Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan
I read this with my friend Pauliina in 2022 and in the time since then we have convinced some of our friends and family to read it. We often joke that we are marketing this book, but the reason why we recommend it all the time is of course, because we loved it so much! It is gorgeously written fantasy with a thrilling, often edge-of-the-seat story, and wonderful characters.

The Seven Deaths Of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
Whenever I think about mystery books to recommend, this one is almost always the first that comes to mind, especially when I speak to more casual readers who like authors such as Agatha Christie. This one has a very Christie-esque feel about it, only that it has a paranormal concept, but it is no less fun to disentangle.

Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister
I have long been recommending Gillian McAllister’s books, however Wrong Place Wrong Time is the one that has really propelled her career and made her a household thriller author on both sides of the Atlantic. Along with the concept which is frankly ingenious, it tells a twisty and genuinely affecting story which amounts to quite a remarkable read.

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong
Not much of an explanation needed here. I recommend These Violent Delights because it is, quite possibly, my favourite book.

The Bear And The Nightingale by Katherine Arden
Another fantasy on this list, the Winternight trilogy is perfect for anyone who wants some escapism and wants to immerse themselves in a fantasy world, or is just a fan of folklore in fiction. The writing is beautifully lyrical and there are times in the trilogy where the suspense and intensity runs high. The main character Vasya is one of the best, too.
